The Honourable member representing Abakaliki North constituency in Ebonyi 6th House of Assembly, Hon. Mrs Franca C. Okpo, has called for peace, unity and progress. She made the call on the 4th of August, 2019 while addressing the Izzi Media Workers’ Association in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital. She further said that no man can survive without other(s), irrespective of clan or tribe.
Meanwhile, according to her, there is no leader who can progress without the effort and support of the followers, whose combined effort saw him or her through.
Hon. Franca shunned violence and division, thereby, promoting peace and harmony which she said is no doubt, other sources of understanding and progress.
“Let us find a way to unite more because fight or quarrel will not take us anywhere. When our problems are shared, we will have less burden in our hearts.
Therefore, whether, you are A or B, we are one, there is no gain in killing and discriminating one another in any way. So many are already dead, but by God’s grace and mercy, we are alive. With a step-by-step union, we can move on because only together we can make things happen just like the saying that “together we stand but divided we fall,” let us not divide but unite for our own good and progress.”
Expressing her gratitude, she promised to do her best to promote the interest of the flock under her leadership.
On the other hand, the president of the Association, Mr. Sunday Nwambam of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), unity FM, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, congratulated Hon. Franca for making it to the 6th House which he referred to as a mystery and a rare opportunity.
